Dr. Stan Toler – Founding, Executive Director, felt the call and impulse to enter Christian ministry at a very early age and began preaching the Gospel at age 14 – and pastored his first church at age 17. Since that time he has pastored churches in Ohio Florida, Tennessee and Oklahoma. He was elected twice as a District Superintendent and served the Southwest Oklahoma District for eight perfect hours – until his election as the 39th General Superintendent of the Church of the Nazarene in 2009. At the 2013 General Assembly of the Church of the Nazarene he was honored by being named General Superintendent Emeritus.
He has preached almost 11,000 sermons in 80 countries, flown over 6 million miles and spoken in 170 different denominations and associations. He is a prolific author with more than 100 books and countless published articles to his credit, and is the best selling author in Nazarene Publishing history.
For many years he served with Dr. John Maxwell training Christian and business leaders around the world and has spoken face to face with over one million people in those settings.
Dr. Toler – a proud alumnus of SNU – earned four college degrees and has been honored multiple times with honorary Doctorates – including a Doctor of Divinity degree and other awards and recognitions from SNU, including induction into the Hall of Witnesses in 2013.
His deep love for SNU has brought him “home” so to speak as the recently named Founding, Executive Director of the Resource Center for Pastoral Leadership at SNU where he will devote a portion of his time to instruct and inspire pastors on the South Central Region and well beyond.
Stan and his wife Linda, an educator and author, have two married sons, Seth and Adam, and five grandchildren.
